Hi, hopefully I can explain myself clear enough.

I own an office with 10-15 people (depends on the day of the week). I thoroughly trust 3-4 people in here, people that help me everyday with any problem that happens. People I trust giving passwords and info to, been friends for years.

The remaining (around) 12 people are somewhat new and I would need a way to make their pc as a low role without huge admin rights.

We wok on CAD softwares and licenses are displayed with two easy clicks without any issue, and that’s something I’m scared of.

So, how should I move for:

-Having 3-4 admin PCs that are not blocked or restricted in any way;

-Having all the other PCs restricted just for ordinary work softwares (Solidworks, in my case, Office and Microsoft Edge) without people being able to access important info like licenses inside my softwares?

We link all folders between all PCs with a Synology NAS but I don’t think that would be of any help.

    So the first recommendation is to pay someone to do this and not do it yourself based on free advice you get on reddit.

    If you own an office with 15 employees, you can find it within your budget. You may hire a full time IT admin, but at 15 employees it’s better to outsource to an IT MSP.

    For providers, you will be depending mostly on Microsoft Windows for this, you will have an Active Directory with networked computers, as another user mentioned, the employees will log as regular users, and the IT Admin will have administrative access even remotely.

    A third party RMM might be used as well, especially if you don’t have an in house IT guy and you depend on a remote IT MSP.

    If you want to get an idea of prices, take a look at our website openscreensit.com , at Open Screens IT we charge 400$ per employee for the standard package, which is a standard price in the industry. Of course it involves a full delegation of IT tasks to the MSP.
