So I recently pre-ordered the PS Pulse Explore wireless earbuds and these come with a usb-a dongle for 2.4ghz low latency audio. This is probably a really dumb question, but if I were to be streaming remotely to the deck from my PS5 or my PC, would it be possible to just have the USB dongle plugged into either of those devices, or would I need a usb-a to usb-c adapter combined with this stupid large dongle hanging out of the top of my deck for it to function properly?
Follow-up question; are there any other wireless earbuds with low latency protocols for gaming that would be a better fit for this device?
If you’re close enough to the PS5 or PC while streaming remotely, it will probably be the better option to plug it into one of them. Not sure if you’d end up with the reverse issue of having the video lagging the audio though, as you may be adding some video latency when streaming.
As far as attaching directly to the Steam Deck, yes, you would probably need an adapter and have it hanging off of the deck, One thing to watch out for though is that plugging in dongles to USB3 ports can cause 2.4GHz interference. Not sure if that is accounted for in the design of that dongle though.
If you wanted to be more stealthy with attaching the dongle directly to your deck, you may want to get a 180° adapter like this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BNBK7BR9 It is a two pack, with one being USB C to USB C and one USB A to USB C
