This current team as constructed just isn’t good enough. They cannot compete with top teams in the East or the West. This team does not have the star power. Simple as that. Put Randle on the trade block. Im tired of seeing him on this team. Tired of it. Same thing every year. Beat bad teams and middle tier teams and lose to the elite teams when it matters. The Knicks team is dead in the middle of the pack.

So far this season the Knicks can’t seem to win against a legitimate good team. They beat bad and middle of the pack teams. This team needs a superstar. Brunson is a B tier star, but this team needs a real superstar. I’m talking someone on Doncic, Giannis, or Tatum level.

Put Randle on the block and you know what, put RJ too. The one damn year the Knicks get the 3rd pick they don’t get a star. Don’t get me wrong I like RJ, but he is no where near some of these other guys drafted at 3. Doncic, Brown… why couldn’t it have been one of them when the Knicks picked 3rd. Just make a damn move. Pick the phones up and get the ball rolling early.

My issue with this is that nobody ever actually proposes a trade that is realistic and would help the Knicks get better. They just say “TRADE JULIUS”. Thats fine if you want to trade him, but for WHO??? Who out there would realistically replace his 25 and 10 production??

At this point, the Knicks are in a waiting game. They just have to wait for a star to eventually ask out. Maybe Donovan Mitchell doesn’t sign that extension this offseason and the Cavs want to trade him. Maybe New Orleans grows frustrated with Zion and wants to build around someone else. Maybe Philly has another playoff collapse and Embiid wants out. We never know. Just gotta wait and see what happens this offseason.

Personally I don’t think your gonna replace is production with a singular person but others would pick up the scoring. If Randle gets injured tomorrow we aren’t going to score 25 less points a game the shot distribution would look different.

It does seem as though we are in a waiting game but the clock is theoretically ticking with Randle do for an extension so I believe a direction is going to have to be made in terms of long term direction, so
