All the Randle haters and Obi supporters are so dumb.
Randles averaging 7 more points than Obi this year. Sure it’s on 20% worse fg% but so what! Ok yes Randle does have the lowest fg% in the league but he always hustles and plays great defense. He never mopes and walks up the court like Obi does. Obi plays with terrible energy and isn’t at all fun to watch with his awesome dunks.
So that’s enough from you Randle haters and Obi supporters!
Yes, Randle started out shooting very badly, but now do Assists and Rebounds.
And, as for defense, Randle’s defensive Estimated Plus Minus, which is one of the most respected measures out there of a player’s defensive impact, has Randle at +1.7 per 100 possession this year (which is in the 96% league wide). Meanwhile, Obi is -0.4. ‘ To put that in perspective, as bad as Randle has shot, his overall Estimated Plus Minus is 1.4 (85% percentile league wide) and his Estimated Wins contributed are 1.3 (88% percentile league wide). Meanwhile, Obi’s overall Estimated Plus Minus is -0.4 and his Estimated Wins contributed are 0.5.
Randle’s numbers are very close to Brunson, who is also off to a somewhat slow start. His overall Estimated Plus Minus is 1.6 (86% percentile league wide) and his Estimated Wins contributed is also 1.3 (but 89% percentile league wide).
