Fast forwarding in hindsight to the Rams competitive 3-4 start to the season. Assuming he didn’t get hurt was the Ramsey trade still worth it? We traded one of if not the best cornerback in the league (younger than our big 3 btw) in a salary dump and we’ve brown so many big defensive possessions in games especially last one with one of his replacements Derion Kendrick (despite how good Witherspoon has been). With the resurgence of Stafford and the emergence of Puka, Kyren, and Tutu, was it still work it making that deal (assuming he doesn’t get hurt)?

Kicking the cap can down the road so you can be competitive every year is the quickest way to be an irrelevant franchise. Yeah having Ramsey this season would be great. But eventually big contracts to older players will hurt you. We shed a lot of weight so we can bulk back up in a healthy way next year and beyond. That’s about as simple as I can make it for you.
