I played Baldur’s Gate (the original version) many many years ago (on windows at the time) and I’m a bit on a “revival” mood, so I was thinking about buying the enhanced editions.

I haven’t bought or even played similar games in a very long time (and never on linux), but according to isthereanydeal.com there seems to be many online stores selling it (apparently often at very bargain prices). Are all these stores trustworthy? Will all of them have a BG version that works on linux? or some may only work on windows?

What about gamers-outlet store (they’re not included in the comparator linked above)? They have it even cheaper, is it legit? It also says it’s a “steam key”, does that mean I need to use steam to be able to use that key?

Sorry if these are very beginner’s questions, but I have been out of the games scene for quite a long time and although I’m very experienced with linux (25+ years using linux daily - mainly Debian) the only games I’ve played on linux were native linux games (like Supertuxkart) or some really old DOS games on freedos emulator.

    Thanks!

It was a long time I had the original Baldur’s Gate, those CDs are long gone. Anyway I’d like to try the new enhanced version with better graphics and some other add-on’s.

ProtonDB says BG I and II enhanced are both native.
