Watching him on All 22 is infuriating lol. He would be completely dominating if he got holding calls like other guys do. I’m aware he’s a rookie and refs will make more calls as he gets more notoriety, but holy hell this kid is getting mugged every snap and I don’t think he’s gotten a single call. Damn near every pass rush snap he’s had is either a hold or a successful rush. He’s incredible, his swim move might be the best I’ve ever seen and I’ve been a DL tape nerd for a long time because I played/coach the position. He’s going to be a perennial All pro and DPOY candidate, call me crazy if you want but his tape is ridiculous for a rookie and all the great OL he’s gone against are gushing over him post game which you don’t see very often.

I will say, he needs to improve against the run but that’s kind of normal for a rookie DT. As far as pass rushing goes, I’m gonna say it, he has Aaron Donald potential

It’s the Shaq Paradox. Shaq was so physically dominant in the NBA that he would get hacked consistently but refs wouldn’t call 75% of them because he was so strong that the foul didn’t prevent him from scoring most times. Jalen is so physically dominant as a rookie that refs just think oh he can still get to the QB even with this guy hanging off his neck
