I’ve saw a post this week seemingly hyping Waddle up against the Jets to my utmost confusion. I’ll start by saying I think Waddle is a very talented receiver and I believe he has the potential to grow into one of the best in the game. Putting that aside, WR2s have been absolutely horrible against the jets and I’m benching him today.

Arguably, the best performance is Jerry Jeudy’s 6 catch, 50 yard, 0 TD outing but one could argue that he operated as the 1 in this game. Sutton caught 3 for 13 yards.

Waddle’s closest stylistic and skill comp is probably Devonta Smith who caught 5 of 11 targets for 44 yards.

But it gets much worse from there.

Bills, Gabe Davis 2/32.

Dallas all WR not named Lamb under 20 yards.

Patriots all receivers not named Kendrick Bourne under 20 yards.

Chiefs everyone not named Kelce under 20 yards.

Giants all WR under 20 yards.

Chargers all WR not named Keenan Allen under 20 yards.

Raiders Jacobi Myers 2/21.

Bills (Round2) Gabe Davis 0/0.

If anything it shows that the only top pass catcher for a given team is playable and many of them have had good games. He might have a good game, he might not, but at least now you’ve been warned so don’t go blaming the misinformation from this subreddit if it doesn’t work out…

In my opinion, the closest comp for Waddle is Devonta. They run similar routes, are the #2 on their team, have a similar skill-set, talent level & similarly powerful offences.

You’re right, this is not a true analysis but my observation and opinion.
