I am a show watcher and have not read the comics yet. I assume this issue gets addressed? Or does it not?

Just seems strange to me that these guys had cities and technology in the first place. Why would they have ever used technology if they had no selective pressure to do so? Humans used tools and built clothing and housing because it helps us survive, and then we kept iterating on that. Surely viltrumites never had that survival need?

Or maybe viltrumites are artificial beings? Weapons that killed their creators?

No spoilers please so if this is touched on or considered at all by the comic author just a simple, “Yes it is touched upon/has a reason,” will suffice.
