I love Invincible but I feel that for a series which took too many non-traditional turns in its storytelling, the ending should have been more bittersweet or even tragic than necessarily a happy one where the hero got the girl, became the big boss of his own universe and continued to live in peace. Are there any recommendations for comics like this where the writer subverts your expectations at every point and also goes on to give the protagonist a non-happy ending?
