I’m sure you all have heard about the allegations against him. I haven’t found many credible sources that confirm or deny them. A lot of it seems speculatory and unproven. Further I think we should keep in mind how advanced AI has become. It’s much easier to fake photos and videos. However, these are serious claims and my post is in no way defending Josh Giddey or claiming he is innocent. Rather, I’m just seeking more context and thoughts on the situation. What do you guys think?

    All of this is nuts. Twitter is out of control. No facts to go on. The ages matter most and we don’t even know that. 20-17 isn’t a great look and might be illegal, but it’s also very arbitrary.

    This country watched a show where a dirty 78 year old man dressed like a boat captain “dated” three women in their early 20s (one was 18 when she first had sex Hefner) and all totally legal, making him richer and more famous than ever.

    I’m NOT saying 20-17 is good idea or is just fine. But is 30-18 all good? What about 45-20, 80-18? If it’s a maturity difference, Giddey is definitely closer in that to a 17 year old than Leonardo decaprio is to his under 25 girlfriends.

    And how about all the 70s rock stars who still sell out stadiums and get lifetime achievement awards even though we know many of them were with 13 year old groupies in their late 20s. Now that’s fucking gross.

    And just take a much needed shit on the PGA, they are now going into a partnership with a government that allows a man to marry a woman at puberty.

    Not condoning Giddey’s actions if all proven, but I will say calling him a pedo is a step too far.
