He was our starting MLB last year and now he plays full back. What does that tell you about our defense? And what does it tell you about Holmes not getting defensive help at the deadline?
I draw two conclusions. Either Holmes knew this team would not finish strong and he did not want to waste capital on what he deemed a worthless solution. Or he thought we have enough talent defensively already which everyone in the world knows we don’t.

A lot of Lions fans were too drunk on Kool-Aid to realize that adding 1 player on an expiring contract wasn’t going to move the needle for this season. We need another draft class and free agency class to really get on the right track defensively. We have one of the youngest and cheapest defenses in the NFL, and it shows.
People really looked at our entire Secondary and LB corp being 1-2 yards behind their receiver on every damn passing play and thought “Chase Young will fix this”
