Alright so my friend has a car that they are fixing but want to give to me at this point because they can’t find out why the car Is cranking but not starting. The car is a 2014 Chevy Malibu 2.5L with 120k miles. The battery, Alternator and Starter are all fine and almost every other part has-been replaced.

History of Car:

2 months ago: Started rough idling and there was a valve cover gasket leak and needed spark plugs, coils ,Solenoid Valves, Mass airflow sensor, and Manifold absolute pressure sensor

1 month ago: Car needed new fuel injectors

Recent: After fuel injector replacement car still cranks but wont start. We also found that the MAF last pin was bent so we are hoping that’s the problem

Codes that are coming up now:

P00F4- Manufacturer Control P0113- Intake Air Temperature Sensor 1 Circuit High

I want to at least be able to test ride the car by Monday so may we please have some advice on what could be done next?

Is it getting spark? Is it getting fuel?

I’m not a mechanic, but I usually pull a plug and hold it close to the engine while someone cranks the starter to see if it sparks. If it does spark it’s likely a fuel problem. I had a similar sounding problem as yours and it ended up being the fuel pump.

Would a fuel pump throw a code? When we changed the plugs before they had a dark colored rust on all 4.
