Still a really new football fan (this is my first year I’ve actually been able to follow a season) so I’m genuinely asking bc I realize I may be ignorant.
Looked into the Raiders’ schedule because everyone keeps saying the Raiders are progressively becoming more and more of a threat. But when I saw everyone they’ve played so far, I noticed they seem to have had a really easy schedule, and any teams they did go against that were actual threats, they lost to.
The beat us by a single point on Week 1, Packers, Patriots, Giants, Jets.
Then, lost to the Bills, Steelers, Chargers, Bears, Lions, and Dolphins.
Doesn’t really scream “threat” to me. Now, maybe tomorrow I’ll be eating my words. Or maybe if they beat the Chiefs on their rematch like we did. But so far it seems like we’ve done a lot more improving on a much harder schedule. The Raiders have been cruising through the season going up against some of the worst teams in the league, and then still losing to the likes of the Steelers and Bears. None of their wins necessarily feel like wins compared to our recent streak.
I think even if we lose against the Browns, Texans, etc. the work we’ve put in to get to this point shows we’re ready to destroy the Raiders when we face them again.
Am I wrong?
The Raiders have more a win streak against us than the Chiefs. It’s been nearly 5 years since we’ve beaten them. They’re no slouch, they’re a tough team to beat even with Aidan O connell.
