I expect no miracles or hope for any huge improvement this Sunday. I won’t for many games! But I now have hope that we can improve.

We just removed a major part of the organization. When you have surgery to remove a tumor, you have to give yourself time to heal. You have to wait for new tissue to grow into the space where you had that malignancy. We have to afford that same time for the team to recover from such a major change.

I don’t care if we lose this Sunday. I hope we win, but I’m tempering my expectations. Forecasting 300+ yards of throwing, or for everything to magically be fixed, isn’t realistic and it won’t foster the support needed during such a tumultuous transition period. My GRANDPARENTS weren’t born yet when we last fired a coach or coordinator mid-season. I’m in college, to give you an idea of that timeline. This is basically unprecedented, but needed, in the modern Steelers era.

As passionate as yinzers and Steelers fans everywhere are, I hope we all temper our expectations, in favor of showing general support to the offense this Sunday. Even if we don’t win, we now have a chance at genuinely improving, instead of the previous and often parroted line, “We just need to work harder.”

I’m actually not going to temper my expectations. My belief, is that the team was cleary sick of the Matt Canada tic tac play calling. Many were even making negative comments in press conferences. Rumor is that Canada had lost the locker room. So while I don’t expect huge changes from a scheme standpoint, I do expect a big game with some fired up players. Prediction, KP for 350 and 3 TDs passing. Najee with have a rushing TD and Bos will have 3 FGs. That will take us to the half, and we’ll rest starters to finish the game.
