We lose games on rebounds way too often for a team that still starts 2 bigs, and I always wonder why. I went on the NBA site player stats and filtered it down to just starting guards per 100 possessions to adjust for pace, and neither Mitchell or Garland were even in the top 50. They weren’t even top 50 for JUST offensive or JUST defensive rebounds either. I then went a step further and made it JUST starting guards in the East, both are still outside the top 50. What the fuck do we do?
Am I the only one who thinks the rebounding angst is way overblown? We weren’t a bad rebounding team last year, and we lost to the Knicks because our offense was 💩not because of the offensive rebounding. (Even with all the offensive boards our defense was rated better against the Knicks than Miamis was)
