Remember that Mcd relegated him to QB3 for most of the season and AOC was mostly inactive- which meant grop, as the starter, and hoyer took all meaningful snaps….

A beat writer needs to do a story on QB management this season because my guess is Mcd was so arrogant that AOCs preseason success actually threatened the plan he laid out to Mark Davis around Grop.

I wonder if he was forced to play AOC against the chargers and if Mcd, low key, sabotaged AOC by not adjusting the line protection and the horrific play call at the end of the game. I’m no football pro….but many did say we left Khalil Mack on his own in spite of Mcd saying he was doubled.

Other rookie QBs took first team snaps (at worst second) AND this is important……had an offense installed that would make their first season easier. I HIGHLY doubt Mcd did ANY of that…in fact his offense is so complicated a old Patriot QB had to run it……Brady or Grop.

I honestly dont think AOC can be meaningfully evaluated this season so long as he is not totally terrible….he needs an offseason where he can learn, take meaningful snaps in practice and have a coach who supports him in a healthy way……none of that happened is my guess

Finally……what if we lose every game remaining. Does that mean we give up on AOC? I wouldn’t.

I would draft a QB and have a real QB competition……give them both a fair shake but lets not ignore the possibility of QB mismanagement under Mcd.

There was a pass to Tae yesterday that was a little behind him on our first 3rd down that wasn’t perfect but it was a good throw. Then he had 2 dimes to Myers one on the left side of the field right over sneeds hand and one to the left that Myers made the incredible catch. It’s hard to say how good he is because of how good Tae and myers are but that’s why we have to give another rookie a chance to 1-up him next year
