One of my least favorite parts of Overwatch 2 is how easy it is to get hit with multiple CC abilities in a row and be unable to move my character or engage in any sort of counter-play. As a tank player, it’s not an exaggeration to say that I routinely get slept and then hacked and then hooked and then hindered and then I’m walking back from the spawn room. All of those CC abilities are on fairly short cool-downs so it’s not unusual for players to use them all to get rid of one player (especially if they’re the tank).

I think there should be CC immunity frames for a short moment after a CC effect ends. For that time, the player can’t be targeted by certain CC effects. (Maybe they have a faint glow of a certain color like when someone is suzu’d). That way you can’t get hit with multiple CC abilities in a row that prevent any sort of counter-play.

If enjoyment in a video game can be measured by the game’s responsivity to your inputs, then denying another player any chance to make inputs removes all their enjoyment.

It separates being a little out of position (being able to get into cover quickly or use a defensive ability) and being very out of position (you are too far from cover with no abilities). The former is a small mistake you shouldn’t be eliminated for and the latter is a grave miscalculation that you should be eliminated for.

I don’t hate strong CC abilities, I think they make the more interesting, but when they are chained together they make me want to quit.

What do you all think? I believe this will make tank specifically much more enjoyable, but I think it will benefit the game as a whole.

P.S. this is not a problem unique to Overwatch 2, it was a problem in Overwatch 1, but was less prevalent since there was another tank to soak up the CC. Main tanks in OW1 remember.

sleep, rock, hinder, hack, slam, hook, trap, etc…)

Problem is this wont really matter then, Sleep and Trap are your only examples not on tanks, and theres only one per team. You cant be Rocked into Javelin, Shatter, or Hook in rolequeue (which should be the mode the game is balanced around)
