According to sources, Jackson’s nickname “Big Government” started during his time with the Detroit Pistons in the 2019-2020 NBA season. During this time, he was often called upon to bail his team out of difficult situations, making clutch plays and scoring key points when it mattered most.

His ability to step up and take control of the game earned him the nickname “Big Government,” a reference to the idea that he was like a larger-than-life entity that could solve any problem.

No. His nickname came during his time on the clippers when Justin Russo called him Big Government cause he kept bailing the clippers out. And that nickname stuck.

He played all of 14 games for the pistons in the 19/20 season.

Oh oops, got it from revupsports via twitter - making me look like a fool 😮‍💨

Main thing was the meaning behind the nickname, never got a clear explanation and I’ve only really focused on him since he joined the Nuggets - he hasn’t really had the chance to be be our bailout guy until this season, now I know why lol
