I wouldn’t say it was a rash decision as much as it was an attempt course correct.
It’s what Tepper does. He makes a mistake and tries to fix it by going too far in the other direction. He went for the high profile upstart, it failed, so he went for the established and respected vet with an all star staff.
This time, he will almost definitely go the top coordinator route because he’s already tried the other two approaches.
