I purchased my SD on October 28th. I received it November 3rd. I have used it almost daily. I run the battery down during the day and charge it overnight. I don’t think the way I use it should have done any damage to the battery.
Last night I was on the couch playing and it gave me the 10% battery life icon. I plugged it into the charger which was plugged into an extension cord. It gave me a message saying something along the lines of the charger being too slow to charge sufficiently.
I unplugged it and plugged it into a wall outlet in my room. I set it on a windowsill and left it there over night. Last night it got really cold.
I picked it up this morning, unplugged it, and went to sit down and play. I press the power button and get no response. I hold it and no response. I plugged it into the charger and it starts up. The battery icon at the top has a little white check mark indicating the battery is full.
So I unplug it and it shuts down immediately. Try to start up and no response. So I think maybe it needs to warm up. It sit with it against my body for a few hours. After that I get the same behavior.
So I start up a game with it plugged in. It runs for a minute or two and then shuts down.
Did I kill the battery by leaving it next to the window? If so that seems completely ridiculous. Will steam replace this under warranty? Doesn’t seem unreasonable to leave it charging by a window.
Or is there a fix anyone might know of? Not sure what to do but pretty stressed. And before I get the “good excuse to buy oled” not interested in spending more money and not particularly interested in oled with all the problem posts I am seeing here.
Thanks in advance for taking the time to read this and for any help
