I have a 2014 Ford Edge SEL that has about 77,000 km on it and I went on a lengthy road trip yesterday and I hit a pretty big pothole on the drivers side and then about 10 seconds later I heard and felt a loud clang from my drivers side rear tire. It was dark so I couldn’t really see much on the sides of the road but I’m wondering if maybe I hit something that got thrown up into my wheel well, but after this happened I continued driving and didn’t notice any changes in my steering or my suspension. I was driving about 120 km/hr and drove for another 2 hours roughly and when I got home I took a flashlight and looked under my car but couldn’t see anything out of the ordinary.

Can anyone take a stab as to what caused that noise? I should mention as well about a month ago now I had my car in at the local Ford dealership and they replaced my drivers inner and outer tie rod ends and they also replaced my rear stabilizer bars and then did a wheel alignment, but if one of those parts broke I’m sure I would have felt or heard something after I heard the initial clang right?

I’m planning on going on another road trip in a few days and now I’m a little worried that something might have broken and would hate to be stranded on the side of the road. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!
