Matisse Thybulle’s three point shooting has taken a leap in his time with the Blazers, but this year, his efficiency inside the arc is what jumps off the page. According to basketball reference’s league shooting page Matisse ranks first among qualified players in 2 point percentage, at 13/15, or 86.7%.

HOWEVER, when reviewing the footage of each of his attempts, I noticed something strange. During his game against the Kings in Sacramento, Tisse is credited with missing a driving layup shot with 7:38 remaining in the 3rd quarter. When you look at the video, it’s actually clear that Shaedon Sharpe is the one who missed the shot, and Tisse is just standing in the corner the entire time! Because of this, his 2pfg% should actually be 13/14, or 92.8%, which still leads all qualified players. Will the league fix this? Who knows, but it’ll be interesting to see if Tom Haberstroh shares it in his segment on the Blazers broadcast, like he did with my Duop Reath stat.
