Hey all, wanted to provide an analysis of where the team is coming into a pivotal TNF game vs the Cowboys. This is just the offensive one, I’ll post the defensive one in a separate post

OC: Shane Waldron: All I have to ask is what happened? He went from being a top 10 OC in the league last year to being on the hot seat. He just does not use guys properly or at all. Completely abandons the run game when it’s working, long developing routes on first down. It feels like he’s trying to do too much but at the same time he’s doing too little. He’s not using the things that work: Short crossing routes, the run game, 13 personell, all abandoned. However, I don’t think he’s all to blame. We’ve seen offensive problems with past coordinators as well, and I believe Waldron is and still is better than Bevel and Schottenheimer ever were. He’s a creative schemer who can call quality plays. Doesn’t help him that his o-line is practically crippled and Geno looks to have regressed from last year a little bit. He needs to find that footing back and use his guys properly.

QB:

Geno Smith: We need a franchise guy. It was clear from the get-go that Geno was meant to be a bridge qb/mentor to whoever takes over. He’s shown he can be good and clutch at times, actually a lot more this year than people on this sub think, but I agree with the consensus that we need to draft a QB first round this year.

RBS:

Kenneth Walker III: WE NEED TO USE HIM PROPERLY, in my opinion he’s a top 6 back in the league when healthy and has potential to be a superstar. Him with a better offensive line would be insane. His YAC ability was on full display vs the Commanders. If K9 gets involved in the recieving game, it adds another fold to the offense only few teams have.

Zach Charbonnet: Was so frustrated how we used him in the 49ers game. He’s a physical runner with a knack for running through contact. A great complement to K9’s more agile style of play.

WRS:

DK Metcalf: Majority of the scrunity at the position is on him right now. I disagree. He seems to not be in sync with Geno at all, they need to work on that. Waldron does not use him properly at all. Recently he’s only used for either deep shots to the sideline or blocking for JSN screens. We don’t use his YAC ability enough, which is what makes recievers like AJ Brown so dangerous. I swear I haven’t seen DK in the deep middle of the field in forever. He can actually run okay routes, contrary to what majority thinks (week 1 vs rams on that td as an example). He also has controlled the unnecessary roughness penalties since the Bengals game (the sign language trash talking). He’s used wrong and I’ll stand on that hill.

Tyler Lockett: Mr. Reliable, the guy you turn to when there’s no other option. He’s consistently been providing for us week in and week out. Teams like the panthers would kill to have a guy like lockett on their squad. In my opinion, he’s the leader of this offense, not Geno or DK. One of my favorite Seahawks players of all time and will be sad to see the day he retires.

Jaxon-Smith Njigba: Insane potential. Also used wrong like most of the offense. There’s a reason both Garrett Wilson and Chris Olave called him the best of the three wideouts in an interview. It’s scary that he got drafted to us, especially because he gets to learn from DK and Lockett. Can definitely be our WR1 of the future. Frustrating to watch him only getting used in screens and short routes. He has underrated contested catching ability and has shown to have great hands (one hander vs 49ers).

Jake Bobo: MORE BOBO, the offense adds another element with him on the field. One of the best run blocking recievers in the league as a UDFA, and can run sneaky routes. There’s a reason every week he’s scored a TD, we’ve won the game.

TES:

Noah Fant: Again, not used enough. What happened to the 13 personell 3 tightend packages we had at the beginning of the season? It’s like the ghost of Matt Canada possessed Shane and now he’s not utilizing anyone properly. Fast tight end who should be used much more.

Will Dissly: Most overpaid TE in the NFL. Doesn’t do much other than block and catch a pass for a first down at times. Can easily get someone like that from the draft

Colby Parkinson: Solid pass catcher, but thats about it.

O-Line (the messy part)

LT: Charles Cross: Up and down rookie year but has noticeably improved this year. Has proved himself against elite edge rushers (Garrett, Young, Burns). The best left tackle from the 2022 class and if he can improve his run blocking a little more, can be a cornerstone at that position. Has a big test coming up against the monstrous Dallas D-Line.

LG: Damien Lewis: Up and down career, has shown to be good at times, is really bad at other times. Don’t really know what to say about him, but he needs to show more consistency, preferrably on the good side

C: Evan Brown: He’s servicable, low ceiling, high floor. Olu needs to start more in my opinion, more upside with him compared to Brown. Still really salty towards PCJS for not drafting Creed Humphery.

RG: Phil Haynes: LIABILITY, been saying this since the depth charts got announced. We NEED to draft someone to anchor the interior. Missed out on a lot of good guys. Showed flashes in preseason but hasn’t shown anything since. At least try Bradford over him, he’s shown to have more potential in the run game.

RT: Abraham Lucas: The most important guy on the o-line. Yes, you can argue Cross is more talented, but you’ve seen what happens when Lucas is hurt. With him healthy, we win the Bengals game and the second Rams game. Jason Peters is old, and Stone Forsythe isn’t any better. Can’t stress this enough but we NEED him back for the Dallas game if we want any shot of winning.

This QB class is too stacked to not draft one right now. It’s not like 2022 when Malik Willis and Kenny Pickett were the top 2 QBs in the class. Geno is 32, and not playing to the best of his ability. With guys like Daniels, Penix and Nix in the class, it’ll be too good to pass up.

Tell me a QB prospect better than one of these guys in the 2025 or 2026 draft other than Arch Manning who we aren’t getting that can fall to us. Daniels is literally leading the heisman race, penix has washington undefeated for now and bo nix is tearing it up in oregon.
