I recently got my 2005 Prius serviced at a dealership, then took it on a 5 hour road trip a few days later, with a return trip a few days after that. During both trips, whenever I would brake from a relatively high speed (60mph+) to a stop/low speed, there would be a faint burning smell that came shortly after. At one point I pulled over and tried to smell around the engine/brake pads and I couldn’t tell where it was coming from. I got the brakes replaced about a year ago, so don’t see why that would be the problem, and this never happened before I got it serviced at the dealership recently. Any ideas or should I just bring it to a mechanic/back to the dealership?

Potentially relevant info:

• Car has 110,000 miles on it

• The dealership recommended that I get a few services done (hybrid battery coolant service, inverter coolant service, transaxle fluid exchange) which I haven’t done yet

• The suspension is really bad from previous road trips, and the wheel alignment also needs to be fixed. The tires are more worn down than usual as a result.

Any advice is really appreciated!
