I have a very nice Pioneer SA-8800 for sale online and someone offered a trade for a Marantz 2238. I’ve never had any Marantz gear but, of course, I know there is a strong following for it. The Pioneer is currently in my living room setup and I would slide in the Marantz if I completed the trade. It looks like they may be on a par in terms of value in the market currently. What does everyone think?
I would keep the pioneer and get a matching tuner. The specs on the 2 aren’t even close. Over double the power with the SA, better thd, better frequency response, etc.
