I’ve played league for awhile but quit and still kinda quit for about 2 years but still occasionally watch content. Is the game actually as unbalanced as people make it out to be, or is it just largely cope for a lack of skill or making mistakes that the opponents can benefit off of? With league I know all too well how easy it is to blame teammates and or items and champs/comps but does it necessarily mean the game is unbalanced?
I guess this poses the question as to what is meant by balance. What are people expecting from the game? Like sometimes I don’t understand what people actually want the game to look like. Every time one thing gets nerfed there’s always gonna be another thing that turns up broken/unbalanced. It seems like there’s a never ending problem that cant be fixed, and maybe that the problem lies with the foundation as to which the game is designed on, and perhaps how people react to that type of design in a certain way that dismisses the skill factor, because there are other reasonably large factors that contribute to a loss as well.
I think most people agree this is the most balanced the game has been in a while. There are still outliers such as hullbreaker Yone, briar, K’sante was for a long long time.
Mostly things are in a pretty good spot. What makes things typically unbalanced is how poor your teammates are because communication is impossible. Add on that for whatever reasons the last month or two the matchmaking systems algorithm is completely messed up.
New champions are always broken and it takes to long for them to get proper nerfs, briar is still incredibly broken and I think she has had 5 straight nerfs. Hwei looks to be impossible to balance but who knows
