I’m assuming you mean drafting someone outside of the 1st round. The potential benefit is you buy a lottery ticket at the most important position(Howell, Purdy, Cousins, Brady, Russell etc.). With how bad our backups are and no answer yet after Rodgers, it’s worth a shot every year until we have a long term answer
