Morning All

My son was recently born this so I decided to pick him up a watch for his 18th birthday. Ended up with a gold plated Tag F1 as there was a good deal available for it. The fact there was a deal was the only reason I did this now.

How on earth do I maintain this Tag F1 for 18 years?? It is currently fully boxed up with all padding and covers etc in place. I just want to make sure I give it to him in good working order. Haven’t had to think about this with my other watches as I rotate what I have and wear them regularly.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

As mentioned there was a really good deal available on this particular watch so I thought I would just bite the bullet now. I also found myself in a decent financial position which I may not be in in 18 years. I’d rather take the hit now. I’m a firm believer in doing something today which your future self will thank you for.

    Any advice?

Honestly if it is about the financial situation and biting the bullet now: What I would do is take that same money and invest it in an index fund. Pull it out in 15 - 17 years, it will very likely be worth more then, and choose a watch at that time.
