I’m American. As I understand it, EV use is much more widespread in Europe. Yet when I think of “Europe” I’m also imagining cities that are much more dense, with more people living in multifamily units rather than freestanding houses with a garage. I’m in a house now, but I actually prefer multifamily/density. I’ve been thinking about moving, but I have a lot of concerns about how to keep my car charged if living in an apartment. What am I missing here? Are European EV drivers not city dwellers or is the infrastructure just much, much better?
I live in Austin, Texas and even here the city runs a public charging program where I can charge anywhere in the network for free. That said I’ve also run into numerous issues with chargers not working etc. Most are not “fast” charging stations though but my current vehicle doesn’t have DC fast charging regardless.
