Set the PlayStation Five to the following settings:
Output Device: HDMI Device (AV Amplifier)
HDMI Device Type: AV Amplifier
Number Of Channels: 7.1 ch
Audio Format (Priority) There are 4 different audio settings and these are the best ways to utilize each one. This is in the PS5 settings:
Use the (DTS) setting when you’re only watching a movie with a DTS-encoded Blu-ray disc.
Use the (Linear PCM) setting for games that doesn’t support Dolby Audio & or Dolby Atmos, or when streaming Stereo content like YouTube, or when watching content from a Blu-ray disc.
Use the (Dolby Audio) setting when gaming or streaming content from the PS5, or watching a Dolby Audio encoded Blu-ray disc.
Use the (Dolby Atmos) setting if you’re playing actual Dolby Atmos content through streaming apps, a Dolby Atmos encoded Blu-ray Disc, or playing games that utilize the new 3D audio engine.
When using your own Blu-ray Discs & DVDs, there are also some settings you would need to change there too which is in a separate menu on the disc player.
On the controller, press the button that has 3 straight lines which is located to the left of the triangle button & to the right of the touchpad on the controller then set these settings:
