First off, Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

Watching film is very important in a lost season. Everyone talks about how this is the time for player evaluation and this is how to do it.

Prior to the off-season, these were my preconceived notions:

  • Wylie could be serviceable
  • Curl needs to be paid NOW
  • Paul >>>>>>>Charles and could solidify LG.
  • Cosmi could be All Pro at RG

After steady player evaluation since the trade deadline, here’s where I am at:

  • Wylie is trash
  • Curl doesn’t make enough plays to be worth 16 AAV.
  • Paul is trash. So much so, I am seriously considering calling Demerits “the Chris Paul award”.
  • Cosmi is barely serviceable at guard.

With that in mind, I leave you with questions for the rest of the season:

  1. Under Ron, does St. Juste get better?
  2. Does Curl leap off the tape to justify 16-17 AAV? So far he just doesn’t?
  3. Does KJ Henry grow into an acceptable rotation piece?
  4. LT as draft target #1? IOL in FA and later in the draft?

Sadly, the Giants game was Tim’s last film session of the year and I THINK the Dallas tape has made Mark skip studs and duds this week.

After Washington Beat Reporter John Keim film review (Defensive highlight against Dallas), Hoghaven’s Studs/Duds (not for Dallas game unfortunately)+ Grading the Game, TimTalkinSports Film Review (stopped after Giants) and my own All 22 review, here’s how I evaluate the games from the holiday:

Cowboys:

Gameballs:

Absolutely no one, you don’t get game balls for that performance.

Demerits:

  1. The Magical Trio of Suck (Leno, Larsen, Paul)
  2. St. Juste
  3. Cosmi, Butler

Giants:

Gameballs

  1. Mayo (game of his life)
  2. Allen
  3. Henry

Demerits

  1. Paul
  2. Leno
  3. Larsen

Again this is a compilation of 5 different things so 5 analysis shows he’s barely serviceable which isn’t saying he’s not been.

He has had a slightly below average year and that’s not just me
