I worked for the Vikings in 1995 and have many interesting stories from interactions I had with Warren Moon, Cris Carter, John Randle, Steve Walsh, David Palmer, Todd Stuessie, Scottie Graham, and a few others.
Almost all of my stories were from positive interactions, but the one exception was when Cris Carter berated me loudly in the locker room in front of everyone (team and reporters, including Sid Hartman) at Winter Park because I asked him to sign a few balls for a charity auction, accusing me of possibly selling the signed balls for personal profit (obviously untrue and completely unfounded).
A few weeks later at the end of the season he was nice to me when the team asked him to sign a bunch of stuff with his name and “122” (the number of receptions he had that season, the Vikings franchise record until JJ broke it last year); he never acknowledged or apologized for the previous incident, but we sat together and talked and watched the announcement of the Pro Bowl teams on TV while he signed everything.
