boy am I glad the mavericks never traded for capela because lively is already a 9 points, 8 rebounds, 1.5 blocks in his rookie season. in year 2 or 3 when he is a bit stronger and more familiar with the nba game get is easily going to be a double double machine with the lobs he will catch from luka and irving. he doesn’t really need to have an offensive game to provide offensive production, lobs and put backs will be his bread and butter if he develops any sort of offensive moves or mid range game it can only be a plus.
let’s talk about how Lively is being used on defense. because a lot of times JKidd is making GWill guard the opposing Cs. JKidd’s reasoning imo is GWill has the strength to push the bigs away from the paint. we saw that against Wemby when GWill was guarding Wemby and DLive was guarding Zach Collins. and even against OKC we saw a lot of GWill guarding Chet and Lively guarding Giddey. but as we saw Giddey can pull Lively away from the paint, and Lively doesn’t have the quickness to guard Giddey
what I’m getting at is maybe it’s time to try Lively guarding Cs full time? but then GWill doesn’t have lateral quickness. can we try Luka, Kyrie, Green, DJJ, Lively?
