Just wanted to say after today’s win has settled (and my nerves) I’m thankful for this Detroit Lions team. I know a lot of others have said this same thing BUT I have to put this in perspective for myself every week. We have never been a true contender, and that’s because of the attitude of ownership, who ownership hired (or didn’t), and ultimately what the “culture” of the team was. And I don’t mean the team, “next man up”, “pull ourselves up out of this”, “we just have to work harder” culture (though to be honest, that’s important, like being sure to change the oil in your car and drink water once in a while) but I do mean the business culture. SFH has taken this team over and turned the BUSINESS into just that, and not a hobby/ play thing/toy. And I’m THANKFUL for that.
I know we’ve got things to fix, defense prime among them.
But,
I just spent some time reading through the Chiefs subreddit after their loss to the Packers (FTP, now they’re going to think they can take the North again) and man… It’s depressing. They’re coming DOWN from being the best. Also… What happened to the AFC? Anyway, at the beginning of the season I was going to be excited for double digit wins. Now I’m excited to see us in the playoffs. But it’s all about perspective. I’m glad we’ve got this awesome sport!
Agree 100%. From SFH to Speilman to Holmes to Campbell, right decisions are being made (finally).
