I’ve been an avid gamer since childhood. I’ve been playing games when I was single, when I got married, when I had my child and as he is growing up. It’s the one hobby that I kept with me while adulting.

As I have progressively less and less free time to play, I realised I found myself enjoying buying games more than playing. It’s almost like gaming has become less playing and more ‘buying the games I want to play (that I may or may not have time for) at the cheapest price’ lol

Became a dad this august. If it wasn’t for my Nintendo Switch and my Steam Deck, I would have zero time for gaming. Now however, I’m able to squeeze in 15-20min here and there and I love it. The fact that they are just: pick up, turn on, play, turn off and put down is amazing. No time booting up, no time needed to load a save, no time to get back into it. Also no need to ‘quickly finish this’ and have to save the game etc before I put it away. I can put it away instantly when parenting duties are needed.
