I know it’s counter-intuitive but I think our Alpi initiated offense is holding back Jalen and Jabari. Ime should consider running more lineups with Jalen and Jabari without Sengun. Jalen and especially Jabari are rhythm players. They need to touch the ball and create for themselves to get into rhythm, feel the ball and play well. They are not going to play well just spacing out waiting for Sengun to hit them for an open 3 three. Jalen is not Murray and Jabari is not MPJ. Rockets are not built for Nuggets type offense.

Over the 2 seasons, Sengun playing well has not really corelated with Rockets winning. The Senhub experiment when KPJ was out looked good because Sengun was generating a lot of open threes but all of those games were losses cause no one was hitting the open shots because no one was in rhythm. Rockets tended to win when Jalen or Jabari played well. Jabari looked his best playing at the 5. Surprising number of Ws from last season were when Sengun was injured or played a limited role.

All this is to say that the way the Rockets roster is constructed atm is doing a disservice to both Sengun and Jalen/jabari. Sengun needs shooters, Jalen/Jabari need to initiate and be more actively involved to play well. Rockets need to decide which direction they want to go soon cause this three, despite our hopes, do not complement each other well enough.

Yes, trade your best young player because your two top 3 picks can’t hit open shots if they don’t cross hesi tween into a step back. Makes sense.

Maybe we should trade Stone for doing a god awful job at roster construction.
