Nketiah meanders around the threshold of being good enough for our rapidly increasing ambitions, so I can understand both sides of the argument. But what is not debatable is that he’s consistently improved year on year. He’s never really had that unquestionable explosion into the team like Saka, ESR or Martinelli did. More like a slow, gradual development, maybe just lagging a year behind where we’d want him each season.

The question then becomes if this will continue. CFs typically age well and peak later, and if he continues this trend, he could be very good. I don’t see any obvious limitations in his profile to suggest he can’t have a very high ceiling
