Designed as community living, the 500 apartments are one or two rooms, outfitted with furniture to accommodate the unusual spaces. Everyone gets a balcony. Kitchens are shared. The development has gyms, sliding boards and other community oriented spaces. Controversial for sure, the Danes loved it or hated it at first and talked about it incessantly but like all good thoughtful buildings eventually they become part of the fabric of the city.
