So my dad is a fairly avid fan of Civ V, as in he’s got about 7000 hours in it. He’s an old guy, and Civ is the only video game that’s really his speed these days.
He tried Civ VI when it came out (I got distracted by other games and never got around to it) but wasn’t super into it and went back to playing V. He’s been thinking of giving it another go recently, and I was wondering if VI kinda “matured” over time/with DLCs like V did? If so I may ask him to wait to try it until the DLCs go on sale and I can grab them for him.
I tried asking what he didn’t like about VI, but all he remembers offhand is:
Didn’t like the new graphics (I assume this is just because he’s so used to V)
Some systems felt “cludgy”
He feels they nerfed movement
No ship of the line for England (He’s pretty butthurt about this lol)
I know this is pretty vague, but I’m mostly wondering if any V loyalists here later converted and which DLCs are worth it. Like I said, he’s an old dude and retired, so if I could freshen up one of his hobbies by getting him on Civ VI, it’d be pretty cool.
