Chris Jones, as great as he is, has become unnecessary to our defense. Not irrelevant by any means, but unnecessary. This was proven against the Lions without him. CJ even knows it, or he wouldn’t have signed a joke of an extension after holding out.

Furious George leads the team with 6 sacks, CJ and Danny are ties for 2nd with 5.5. Omenihu has come out strong and hungry as well with 1.5 sacks and a PD that went for an interception in just 2 games.

Granted our defense would drop off a little without Jones, but the major boost our offense gets from that kind of weapon would be phenomenal. Our defense doesn’t need to be top 5 if PM15 has Trav and JJ to throw to.
