First time EV owner here. I purchased my 2023 Ioniq 6 a few weeks ago and I love it so far. But the truth is, the actual purchase and dealership process was terrible. One of the advantages to Tesla’s is arguably the streamlined financing/purchase of the car.
In the last three years, many EV owners have paid at or above MSRP for new EV cars. I guess my question for those of you who have financed a car in the last three years, how was your experience? Do you feel like you got a fair deal? If you have any criticisms about the car buying process for an EV, feel free to share.
The general trend is that EVs are getting cheaper but those of us who purchased one when they were more expensive kind of got the shit end of the stick. Anyways, curious to read about experiences.
Im surprised many people have posted about the dealership experience being so bad for buying a non tesla EV. But that can also be due to brand and local dealership too. My experience with buying a 2023 new bmw i4 was great at my bmw dealership. I only had to wait a couple months since it had already shipped from germany and got my car in good time. Without any hassle or upselling really, and was never pressured.
