Literally any post or comment criticizing Geno to any degree is instantly hammered by downvotes and all discussion is hidden from view.
That’s not how Reddit works, people. You downvote posts that don’t contribute to the discussion. You don’t downvote posts just because you disagree with them.
If you downvote positions you don’t like, the sub becomes an echo chamber and nobody wants that. Or… do they? Does this sub want to become an echo chamber full of homers, like the shitty sports chat rooms of the 2000s?
Let’s not let Seahawks fandom go down this path. We are all Seahawk fans here, and we should all be able to voice our opinion without fear that it will disappear into the ether.
MODs can feel free to delete this if they feel it’s low-effort or something, but know that I barely come in here anymore because it’s so unfriendly and people don’t use it correctly. I’d rather spend my time in places that are more accepting of contrary views.
The homers part doesn’t matter, but I agree about the downvotes and have voiced the same issue has OP. And it’s all over the place, not just Geno talk. In my mind I just think if you disagree with a take then you comment as to why, not downvote. If you disagree but don’t care enough to comment, then keep scrolling.
But at the same time most people don’t even know that downvotes aren’t a disagree button and don’t care. I truly believe the best thing that could happen for this sub is just to have the downvote button removed. If something isn’t fit for discussion than it should just be reported and removed. You can tell what people agree with based off upvotes alone, no reason to even have it.
