For this year’s NFL season, I created a ladder system for ranking NFL Teams. I originally posted this around Week 5, [and you can see that post here.] (https://old.reddit.com/r/DenverBroncos/comments/17802t9/i_created_a_ladder_ranking_for_the_nfl_season/). The way it works is pretty simple - each team is ranked 1-32, and the winning team takes over the rank of the losing team if they were lower before the matchup.

That’s right Broncos Country, let me repeat that, the winning team takes the place of the losing team after each week. Guess what that means for us… That’s right folks!! We are now in the top five of teams in the NFL, following only…

• The Cincinnati Bengals
• The Seattle Seahawks
• The Baltimore Ravens
• The Detroit Lions
• The Denver Broncos

According to this (very accurate!) ranking, this places our team not only above the Chiefs, but also above teams like the 49ers, and the Eagles. Above the Dolphins and Bills. Above 27 other teams in the fucking NFL!! We’re back in it baby!!

In all seriousness, this ranking probably isn’t the best gauge of how good a team actually is. And with a heavy bias towards recency, there’s a strong possibility we will shift back down in the coming weeks. But it still feels good to be up near the top, for however long it may be! No matter what happens the rest of the season, Sunday’s win helped me remember what it feels like to be proud of our team again. I wanted to share the feeling, share the ranking, and I hope you enjoyed it.
