As the title stats, I’ve have tried everything I can possibly find online regarding poor internet speeds, but NOTHING has worked. I don’t usually like to have to make posts about tech issues as almost any of them can be answered somewhere on the internet, but I have tried very diligently to find a solution and absolutely nothing is working. Recently the internet for my household switched to google fiber which promised faster speeds up to 1500 mbps. After switching, my connection suddenly took a turn for the worse and I can no longer play anything that requires an online connection without insanely bad stuttering and connections. I’ve ran many speed tests all that average at about 15-25 mbps. Meanwhile, my girlfriends pc which is in the exact same room averages 200 mbps. I figured the problem was that I wasn’t connected to an ethernet cable, so I bought one and it only increased my speeds to about 20-30 mbps. After that, I tried following every single guide online to try and fix it, I have typed every single imaginable line into command prompt, all whilst in administrator mode,

ipconfig /release, ipconfig /renew, ipconfig /flushdns, ipconfig /registerdns, nbtstat -rr, netsh int ip reset all, netsh winsock reset, netsh int tcp set heuristics disabled, netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled, netsh int tcp set global rss=enabled, netsh winsock reset, netsh int ip reset, netsh int ip reset c:resetlog.txt

and restarted after every single one, all without a single difference. I also tried plugging the ethernet cable into my gf’s pc to see if that was the issue and it only resulted in her internet speeds jumping from 200 to 300. I also tried running a safe boot where I disabled every single unnecessary start-up software and driver and funnily enough my speeds went DOWN to 7 mbps. I have disabled all of the large offload settings and tweaked a very large array of advanced settings to their ‘optimal’ settings. I have been through well over a dozen tutorials now and done every single thing and not one thing has fixed anything. I have a strong suspicion it could be some software, but considering it got WORSE in the safe mode launch, I’m not sure. I also did a virus and malware scan which also came back clean. I don’t know what else to do anymore so I plead for some help to figure this out.

*EDIT: I will edit as I remember more stuff I had modified. Speed and Duplex set to Auto-negotiation.

Im not familiar with google fiber but im guessing its not ftth? Since they say “up to”? also have you checked in taskmanager if any task are heavy on ethernet/wifi

Unfortunately task manager doesn’t provide any use there as Network usage is almost always at 0%
