He’s averaging 13/2/2 on 49 fg% 35 3pt%. For his career he’s at 19/3/3 on 46 fg% 38 3pt%.
He’s an “undersized” guard that is explosive off of the dribble and excellent at finishing at the rim. He would help the team will dribble penetration. Not the best defender but he’s more athletic than Reaves and Dlo and has more upside on that side of the ball. He should be available for trade at a decent price.
He’s a major upgrade at either guard position and we have no chance of getting him. Before CLE started to sour on him, he looked like a legit #1 option (for maybe a 3-4 year window?)
He’s very young too and I still view him as a 20-24 PPG guy. Injuries and other things caused CLE to sour on him, and Garland was loved (while he was not).
But, again, he’d be a huuuge upgrade. He could easily drop 25 a night. Is that even possible?
