[‘97 CRV] For an older car, is full synthetic necessary?

I’m trying to keep this thing alive as long as I can, idk what I’m doing. Mileage is 115707. I just got the oil changed with synthetic blend, maybe that was a mistake? Idk how much it matters.

Any other tips would be appreciated!
