Actually that seems to be the goal nowadays, nvm. Come out with a broken messes, pour time and money into fixing it if it has the chance to be successful, if not then have it slowly die off from obscurity as you make the next broken mess, repeat.
Just that what made FFXIV, No Man Sky, and Cyberpunk 2077 work, is that they actually put effort into making a fun, stable game to make up for it. Not fix some bugs and ask for more micro transactions.
