I swear this website and Celtics twitter is the most overreactionary group in all of sports. When we start 5-0 it’s “we’re gonna be better than the 08 Celtics, banner 18 imminent” and when we lose 2 close games to top notch teams it’s “blow it up, fire Joe”

We lost in OT to the leagues best defense on some questionable calls (or lack of them), and lost by 3 to the third best team in the East with the reigning MVP. There’s ups and downs in an 82 game regular season for every team. I think Mazzulla has to be better with timeouts, we need better guard play off the bench, and we need to use KP more in the PnR. But we’ll get better about those things as the season goes on. Let’s not forget two of the starters have never played with anyone on this roster.

The Jays are not both gonna struggle the way they have the past two games (more so JB even if JT can be better, although I think part of that stems from Joe not drawing up enough plays for him). The goal is banner 18 and with our starting five we are more than capable of getting there. We just gotta figure out how to include our new guys which will happen over time. Hopefully we get a better guard at the trade deadline, but we’ll be fine. It’s important to not react too strongly one way or another. If this is cause to panic, then every fanbase in the league should be panicking. Some of y’all are spoiled and unrealistic as fuck man…

Last season I made a post during that mid-season offensive slump about our over-reliance on 3pt shooting and how the variability of it was gonna come back to bite us in the ass in the playoffs. People called me a overreacting doomer and then…that exact thing happened.

I’m not calling myself a sage or genius or anything. It was a pretty obvious observation but the green teamers didn’t want to think about it. The truth is, the people who think the season is over after every loss are annoying as fuck. But also the people who stick their heads in the dirt and think we’re guaranteed to figure everything out are just as bad.

We have real issues both with coaching and roster construction and it’s okay to have discussion about that
