So, I’m aware that certain kickers are just better than others, but I also know that you can have the best kicker and even put them in a good offense and they still don’t do that well Fantasy wise (looking at you, Justin Tucker).
So, other than the kicker’s talent, what should I look for in the team surrounding the player? Is there a such thing as an offense that’s too good which gets more touchdowns than field goals? Do you want something in between I should be looking for?
For example, I’m looking to the playoffs, and both of the best ranked ROS kickers have been dropped. I’m trying to compare Jake Elliot from the Eagles who is in a better offense vs. Harrison Butker from the Chiefs who is in a slightly worse offense but seems to be ranked higher. Just not totally sure how to make the delineation of who’s better.
Sorry if this is a dumb question, just trying to learn more about a position I don’t fully understand. Thanks!
Whatever time you want to spend looking into kickers in fantasy, spend it looking into literally anything else. The difference between the best kicker you could have and the worst is like 12 points across the entirety of the season, and there is virtually no way for you to really figure out who that player is going to be. It’s a total crapshoot and not even worth your time to figure it out.
